First of all, I would like to say thanks to Pedro for the honor of being here today as your friend and as your Best man.

2 weeks ago, lovely Katie, helpful has always, sent me a link to a web site called weedingspeeches.com, it cost me $19.95. After serious study I learned that professionals advise that one should eat a Banana one hour before the speech to stop tummy from rumbling… I’m not sure about that but, so I have eaten a couple!

Well any way, on that web site I also found the duties of the Best man:

Organize and supervise the Bachelor party… I did try to organize the stripers, I meant… the exotic dancers but Pedro didn’t fall for it, so instead of supervising i was the one who got supervised!. Assist the groom on the wedding day… I did this. Act as legal witness to the marriage… well, I stayed awake during this part , did not do a lot. Keep the wedding rings in a safe place until needed… who the hell is going to try to still the wedding rings???. Say good things about the Groom during my Best man speech… really?? This could be tough! Let me think.....

Pedro is not a normal person, Pedro is special and everyone who has had the pleasure to feel his energy knows that. I meet Pedro in Titusville, Florida (you know, the center of the world, from that moment on I realized that we had the very same attitude toward facing life and adversity and soon we became “Partners in Crime”, with the same courage and spirit of the first Portuguese sailors together we survived adventures including:

“Do you guys want to take me home?”, “Night Canoeing in a river infested with Alligators”, “Under negative temperatures we Rode bicycles on the high way and across Brooklyn Bridge at 2:30am” We drove through states at supersonic speeds without getting any tickets, we climbed to Mount Michael here in Asheville and won a 3 legged race.

Together we chased and got chased by hurricane Fay and navigated on the big apple better that a Chinese rickshaw driver. We also have the same taste for good food, we delight ourselves with raw Cod fish salad, tuna with onions, Alligator nuts, Chinatown kung-fu noodles and sausage cooked on beer, we even ran away from the hospital in the middle of the night just to eat a chocolate waffle and off course last but not the least: Pedro’s famous Love Pancake.

We rolled over naked on the snow, jumped the waves in the middle of the sharks and flew above the clouds in the skies of Florida. But the most important of all we accomplished our mission… we lived happy and we still live happy. This is all part of the journey, and now you are just starting a new one my friend, so please all join with me, and wish these two best friends of mine everything that's good in life for their future,
